Les marqueurs d'une stratégie de gestion de la charge de la preuve [Elektronisk resurs] franchement et en fait qualifiant une thèse

• Up until now, most studies that deal with the linguistic realization of argumentationare mainly interested in the « indicative potential » of the words and phrases studiedand tend to neglect the potential strategic effect of these words in argumentativediscourse. In this article, I propose a systematic study of “illocutionary adverbs”,such as franchement and honnêtement, when they appear in the utterance thatfunctions as a standpoint. I also argue that the adverbial phrase en fait has the samestrategic effect. In order to account for the strategic role of these adverbs when theyserve as qualifiers of a standpoint, I have recourse to the concept of burden of proof,a concept that is essential to the act of advancing a standpoint. I argue that theseadverbs can be considered as a means at the arguer’s disposal when formulating hisstandpoint to manage the burden of proof to his advantage. As a result, the analystmay consider their presence in the utterance that functions as a standpoint as amarker of the strategy of managing the burden of proof. 
• Jusqu’à présent, la plupart des études qui font le point sur l’inscription linguistique de l’argumentation s’intéressent plutôt au « potentiel indiciaire » des mots et des locutions étudiés et négligent leur effet stratégique potentiel dans le discours argumentatif. Dans cet article, je propose une étude systématique des adverbes « illocutifs », comme franchement et honnêtement , quand ils figurent dans l’énoncé qui sert à avancer une thèse. Par ailleurs, je défends l’idée que la locution adverbiale en fait a le même effet stratégique que ces adverbes. Pour rendre compte du rôle stratégique que ces adverbes peuvent jouer quand ils servent à qualifier une thèse, je fais appel à la notion de charge de la preuve, indissociable de l’acte d’avancer une thèse. Je défends l’idée que ces adverbes peuvent être considérés comme un moyen dont dispose le locuteur pour formuler sa thèse de manière à gérer la charge de la preuve à son avantage. Ainsi, leur présence dans l’énoncé-thèse peut être considérée par l’analyste comme un marqueur de stratégie de gestion de la charge de la preuve.
